Colne Valley Vets - Your Colchester veterinary practice

Coronavirus update - What we're doing to look after your pets so you can look after yourself

Our practice is open but we now have some restrictions in place to comply with all the guidelines we have been given to keep us ALL safe.

Our front door is locked and we are carrying out all our consultations in the car park before taking your pet into the building for any examination that may be required.

We are able to see all urgent and emergency cases and we are happy to talk over any concerns that you might have over the phone.  We can dispense medications for you to collect and we can post them to you if required.

To those of you that have already visited, we offer a huge thank you for acting responsibly and for being so understanding.

You can read more about our current way of working as well some other thoughts and updates in our Spring newsletter here.  You can also download a copy here.

It is pretty heart breaking at the moment seeing our building so empty.  We miss the contact with you all very much, but then this is true for all of us in so many ways right now.  That said, we know that if we can all be responsible, and push through these difficult times, then we'll get back to normal sooner, rather than later.  Until then, we hope you can all take care and stay safe.  Just remember, we are here if you need us.

Welcome to the web site for Colne Valley Veterinary Practice, the largest small animal vet practice in Colchester.

Colne Valley Vets is a large and well equipped practice with ten experienced vets and we can deal with the needs of all types of pet, from hamsters to iguanas, from dwarf rabbits to giant dogs and from Amazon parrots to Bengal cats!

Established in 1947, and originally based in outbuildings behind a house in Military Road in the Newtown area of Colchester, the Colne Valley Veterinary Practice moved into our current, large and purpose built premises in 1998.  Built over two floors and with five spacious consulting rooms our veterinary surgery has been designed with our patients in mind.

We aim to be the friendliest and most caring vets in Colchester.  We will always try and do our very best for your pet AND for you.  We know that coming to a veterinary practice can be stresseful at times and we will always try and help you to feel at ease whenever we can. So why not browse our site or better still, come down to our surgery at the Hythe for a visit.

We now offer Pet Health Plans - a monthly payment plan to cover your pets routine health needs.  Please click here for more details.
